Margherita Pizza
Ingredients:
For the dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp instant yeast
3/4 cup warm water
1 tbsp olive oil
For the topping:
1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed tomatoes
150 g fresh mozzarella cheese (sliced)
Fresh basil leaves
1–2 tbsp olive oil
Salt (to taste)
Instructions:
Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm water and olive oil. Knead into a soft dough and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Preheat oven: Heat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
Shape the base: Roll the dough into a round pizza base and place it on a greased baking tray.
Add toppings: Spread pizza sauce evenly. Arrange mozzarella slices on top and sprinkle a little salt.
Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
Finish: Remove from oven, add fresh basil leaves, and drizzle olive oil.
Serve hot: Slice and enjoy immediately.
